  • i feel this is an exciting opportunity. i’m so pleased to offer you this high-value, one-on-one mentorship. my aim is to support and empower you in every way i know how, drawing from my 15 years of experience as a musician, songwriter, performer and self-managing independent artist. i am really looking forward to working with you over the course of 3 months, challenging your perceptions of what you previously thought was possible for you and your artist project. it’s time for you to make more than a few tweaks and improvements and take a big leap forward!

about me

Hey! i’m Jako Bär. i can’t wait to meet you and see how we can work together to advance your artist project or creative endeavor. i guess you could say i’ve been around the block. i grew up internationally in places like Pakistan, Thailand, Afghanistan and Sri-Lanka and moved to my passport home of Germany at age 19. i’ve been working creatively as an independent artist for the past 15+ years. it’s hard to put it all on paper, but here is some of the work i’ve done…

  • written & recorded & released  3 full length albums and 2 EPs

    performed hundreds of shows throughout Germany & internationally

    self-managed my independent music career

    planned, directed and released 20+ music videos

    built a dedicated local fanbase, selling  out venues for live-shows

    led a 6-piece band as musical director, arranger & band leader

    worked on projects as as a recording & mixing engineer

    got a teaching degree in music at the university of heidelberg

    worked as a music & theater teacher at local & international schools

    collaborated with international artists on songwriting projects

    started a songwriting community in my home town

    studied & applied digital marketing strategies (email, social media etc)

    active as a local event organizer & show promoter

    active in international online songwriting communities

    oh and started a family ;)

    sometimes i’m not sure what all this  makes me, but i guess it’s safe to say i’m an all-rounder ;) currently, my main focus is leading a small team of free-lancers and my band on my artist project ‘BÄR’. what i love most is dreaming up and executing creative projects around music!

  • ultimately this is up to you. i recommend spending 2-3 hrs weekly the reading and journaling. if you can do this consistently, you will see and feel big changes in your mindset and artistry. the important thing is the energy with which you approach our work together, an openness and willingness to grow and learn. time is relative, and sometimes one hour on the right thing can be more valuable than 100 spent on busy work.

  • yes. I remember how many years it took me to consider myself an artist, let alone call myself one. especially if you spend a large chunk of your time working in a different field, it’s easy to feel less than. whether you are an established artist looking for refreshed inspiration or consider yourself a novice, only just beginning to explore your creativity and craft, this program is sure to move you forward in leaps and bounds.
